About Email Cleaner

Email Cleaner is a web app that clears out mailboxes in bulk. It detects which sections a mailbox actually has, such as Promotions, Social, Updates, Forums, Spam and Trash, and empties the ones you pick. Or give it a keyword and it finds every message that contains it, across folders, and deletes those.

Nothing is deleted without a preview you approve. Each job first counts matches by folder, shows sample messages and explains what the provider could and could not filter on its side. Deletes go to Trash by default and can be undone for 30 days. Sent, Drafts, Archive and starred mail are protected, and a message that cannot be proven to match is kept.

It works with Gmail and Google Workspace, Outlook and Microsoft 365, Yahoo, iCloud, Zoho, Fastmail, GMX, Mail.com, AOL and any other IMAP host. Gmail and Outlook users connect with one click once you register an OAuth app, and IMAP providers work right away with an app password, with server settings discovered automatically.

What is included?

Can I try it first?
Yes. The live version at emailcleaner.xyz runs the same code. Connect a mailbox there to see the preview and cleaning flow before you buy.
What do I need to host it?
A server with Node.js. SQLite works with no setup, or point it at PostgreSQL. IMAP providers work immediately; Gmail and Outlook need an OAuth app registered with Google and Microsoft, and the included guides walk you through it.
Can it delete mail permanently?
Only if you choose to. The default is moving mail to Trash with an undo window. On Gmail, permanent deletion needs the full mail scope, which Google grants only after a security assessment, so most deployments keep the default.
Can I offer it as a service to other people?
Yes. It includes user accounts, plan limits and an admin dashboard. A public Gmail deployment requires Google's app verification and security assessment; an internal Google Workspace app does not. The Source License page explains what you may do with the code.
